I visited in the summer of 2006. It was very different from how I remembered it. Somewhere along the line, somebody decided to plant trees along some parts of the highway. The air also seemed cleaner (i feel like those two are linked).
I was never really aware of Indonesia's political problems. I guess I was too young. I do know that the finances are bad, though. The rupiah isn't doing too well.
Yeah. America is not all it's cracked up to be, but still, I do appreciate that it's loads better than alot of other places. Just alot of degradation, you know? There are too many things to want in America. People get greedy...and needy.
Im good here :) I am an art major at a small college in Texas. I live in my own apartment 4/7 days of the week.
How are you? Where in Indonesia are you?

I think Indonesia still have complicated politically and economically until now, only good on surface.you know the mainstream media only care who have money; which is bosses and politician. corruption, dirty politics etc still continue. the other hand, there are not much young ppl concerned with the case like peasant struggle, which in depriving workers of their rights, many of the young man just passive and only care about fashion and consumerism. sad but true. I'm not in school and never learn art from school. I live in Jakarta. at small rental house. well stuffy and thick with pollution. I survive with a draw and also sometimes dirty or work rough. I also run the anarchist journal "Amor Fati" more active with the anti-authoritarian group here. But I have enough friends and can have fun..busy being myself hehe... nice to know you here..
